July Family and Consumer Sciences Program

The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Family and Consumer Sciences program for July 2022. This program is being offered by Martha B. Maddox, Family & Consumer Sciences Agent.

Food Preservation 101: Canning and Freezing – July 14, from 10:30 a.m. to noon and repeated from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This is a Zoom webinar.

In this class, participants learn the basics of preserving food safely with freezing (providing freezer tips and guidelines), water bath canning, and pressure canning. This webinar will be conducted on July 14, 2022, for both a morning and an evening session.

The registration fee for both sessions will be $15.00. Participants must register online by July 11. Participants receive a detailed canning and freezing guideline booklet. After participants register through Eventbrite, they receive an email confirmation containing information about joining the Zoom webinar (they must register through Zoom to attend the workshops). Classes are limited to 50. There are no refunds for the registration fee.
