During construction, drivers can expect lane closures from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists are advised to exercise caution when traveling through the construction area and to seek alternate routes whenever possible.

Preferred Materials, Inc. has been contracted to complete the $3 million project, which includes resurfacing approximately 3.8 miles of roadway from County Road 231 to County Road 225. The project will also include improvements to side streets, driveways and drainage culverts to enhance roadway safety and durability.

“Thanks to Alachua County voters who approved the Wild Spaces Public Places Infrastructure Sales Tax and the historic levels of funding that it provides for roads, projects like this are possible,” said Alachua County Construction Inspection Superintendent Aaron Burke.
