The Alachua County Arts Council is pleased to announce that the second annual Artists Conference deadline is extended to Friday, April 28, 2023. The Artists Conference is on Friday, May 5, 2023. This year’s conference is free to all attendees and will be held at Cuscowilla Nature and Retreat Center (210 S.E. 134 Ave, Micanopy).
Planned sessions include:
- Poetry reading by Alachua County Poet Laureate, E. Stanley Richardson
- State legislative update
- Winning the Grant and Telling Your Story
- Fundraising is Good Networking
- Protecting Your Intellectual Property
- How to Use TikTok to Market Your Brand
- Producing “The Ashtray,” a Community Zine
- Get Seen, Get Heard: Local Resources for Getting Your Art to the World
The Alachua County Arts Council’s mission is to “improve the quality of life of Alachua County residents by increasing exposure to the arts, expanding opportunities for creative expression by local artists, and increasing community resources for the arts.”
Arts Council Chair David Ruiz stated, “The Arts Council is the local resource for Alachua County artists, and the sessions planned will provide critical support to help our artists community succeed.”
