September Agriculture and Natural Resources Program

​​The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Agriculture & Natural Resources program for September 2025. Kevin Korus, agriculture & natural resources agent, is offering this program.

Pesticide Test Prep for Private Applicator & Agricultural Row Crops – Sept. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (with agriculture & natural resources/livestock agent Lizzie Whitehead, at the UF/IFAS Extension Bradford County Office (2266 N. Temple Ave., Starke)

This workshop is designed to provide training for private applicators and agricultural row crop pest control licenses. The private applicator license is required for anyone who applies restricted-use pesticides to their own farm, greenhouse, or nursery. The class is until 12:30 p.m. If anyone wants to take the test, participants can stay after 1 p.m.

New license: After the class concludes, exams will be available to attendees who need a license. Let the extension office know if you need to test to reserve your spot. To test, please apply for a voucher number prior to the class.

Up to four Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be offered for applicants that already have their licenses. CEUs available include General Standard Core (two) and Private Applicator/Ag Row Crop (two). 

The registration fee of $30.00 (plus $3.85 Eventbrite fee) includes lunch. Participants must register online​ by Sept. 2. The registration fee, if paying at the door, will be $40.00. This class is limited to 20 participants.
