The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Commercial Horticulture program for September 2026. This program is being offered by Commercial Horticulture Agent Tatiana Sanchez-Jones.
Updates in Organic Vegetable Production Field Day – Sept. 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the North Florida Research and Education Center-Suwannee Valley in Live Oak (Farm: 8202 County Road 417, Live Oak).
This event will feature short, informative talks from UF and UGA researchers on topics like whitefly management, companion planting, organic farming economics and nutrient cycling in organic vegetable production. Participants will have the chance to visit field plots, participate in hands-on learning stations and enjoy a complimentary lunch with fellow growers and professionals.
Since this event will have an outdoor component, participants should wear comfortable shoes and bring a hat and a water bottle. Those with food allergies should email Tatiana Sanchez at tatiana.sanchez@ufl.edu by Sept. 21.
The registration fee is $5 (lunch included). This event is limited to 50 participants, who must register online by Sept. 22. If attendance does not reach a minimum of 15 participants, the event will be canceled. There are no refunds for the registration fee.
