The Gainesville-Alachua County Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) is seeking residents to fill eight vacancies on its Citizens Advisory Committee.
The vacancies are for three-year terms and at-large positions, meaning anyone living anywhere in Alachua County can apply.
The committee reviews transportation plans and programs from a resident's perspective and makes recommendations to the TPO. Its input helps guide regional transportation planning for roads, public transit, bicycling and walking.
The committee generally meets monthly on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. in the Grace Knight Conference Room on the second floor of the Alachua County Administration Building (12 SE 1st St., Gainesville).
County residents interested in serving on the committee can apply online.
“Public input is an important part of the transportation planning process,” said TPO Executive Director Anoch Whitfield. “Serving on the Citizens Advisory Committee is a great way for residents to share their perspectives and help shape transportation decisions that affect our community.”
Residents can visit the TPO’s website for updates on its activities, opportunities for public involvement, and information about transportation planning efforts.
