“Being recognized on a national level is a testament to the incredible effort from our staff, volunteers, community partners, and athletes who made this event a success,” said Jessica Hurov, Alachua County’s tourism and economic development director. “We are honored to be in the running and proud of what this event brought to our region.”
The 2025 World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships, held earlier this year in Alachua County, brought together thousands of athletes from nearly 100 countries, celebrating competition, community, and global connection through sport. The event showcased not only athletic excellence but also Alachua County’s capacity to host major international sporting events with success and style.
Award winners will be announced on Oct. 15, 2025 at the TEAMS ’25 Conference & Expo in Columbus, Ohio.
