Alachua County is reminding residents about the new online Pothole Portal, which makes it easier to report potholes and helps Public Works crews identify areas needing repairs.
Since the portal launched two weeks ago, over 400 pothole reports have come in. Public Works crews have made significant progress and have:
- Filled 2,206 potholes, using 85.52 tons of material.
- Strip milled and resurfaced 3,263 linear feet of roadway, using 71.23 tons of material.
Strip milling and resurfacing remove damaged pavement in targeted areas and replace it with new asphalt. The county’s 4-foot-wide milling machine allows crews to repair damaged sections without resurfacing the entire roadway.
Alachua County will provide weekly reports to keep residents informed about repair progress. Updates will also be posted on the county’s website, social media channels and in the My Alachua County App.
Residents are encouraged to use the Pothole Portal to:
- Pinpoint the location of a pothole on an interactive map.
- Submit a report with or without creating an account.
- Track pothole information through the county’s digital system.
Report a pothole.
Reports are automatically routed to the appropriate staff, helping Public Works prioritize repairs and allocate resources. The Pothole Portal replaces rbmaintanance@alachuacounty.gov as the preferred way to report potholes.
