This is a reminder that beginning November 25, 2024, GFL (the County’s waste hauler) will resume regular yard trash collection services. The regular size limits will apply for all yard trash placed curbside for collection by GFL. These limits include:
- No items over 5 feet in length
- No items with a diameter greater than 8 inches
- No item with a weight greater than 40 pounds
- All loose material in paper lawn bags or reusable containers
The County is still collecting hurricane-related debris. However, all remaining hurricane-related vegetative debris must be placed curbside by November 22, 2024.
The citizen drop-off vegetative debris sites for Alachua County residents will remain open for now. There are two sites that are open Monday through Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. These drop-off sites are for residential hurricane-related vegetative debris only. To access the sites, residents must bring proof of residence with them, such as a utility bill and a driver’s license with a matching address.
- NW Landfill – 15530 NW 173rd St, Alachua
- SW Landfill – State Road 24, 2.2 miles SW of US 27, Archer (just past Archer Rural Collection Center site)
