Three Call-to-Artist Projects Extended

Call-to-Artists for the “Outdoor Sculpture and Indoor Mural for Alachua County UF/IFAS Office” and “Outdoor Sculpture for Alachua County Agricultural & Equestrian Center” have been extended until Wednesday, January 20, 2021. The Call-to-Artist for the “West Lawn Statue” has been extended until January 27,2021. Artists or artist teams are encouraged to apply.​

West Lawn Statue
Alachua County is advertising a Call-to-Artists for a statue on the West Lawn of the County Administration Building. Submittals are due to Alachua County Procurement by Wednesday, January 27, 2021, no later than 11:59 p.m. via the Codaworx website (Registration is free).

The statue will be installed on a 12’x12’ concrete slab on the S.E. corner of University and Main Street (located at 12 S.E. 1st Street, Gainesville). The desired statue should reflect the shared values and aspirations of the community and should not honor a person, historical event or a political figure and should reflect the peace, love and justice that should prevail in Alachua County. The budget for the project is $37,550.

Outdoor Sculpture and Indoor Mural for Alachua County UF/IFAS Office
Alachua County is advertising a Call-to-Artists for an outdoor sculpture and indoor mural for Alachua County UF/IFAS Office.  Submittals are due to Alachua County Procurement by Wednesday, January 20, 2021, no later than 2 p.m. via the Codaworx website (Registration is free).

The two individual pieces of art shall include a 15’x8’ indoor mural in the public lobby and an outdoor sculpture in the Master Gardeners demonstration gardens. Both pieces of art should reflect the mission of Alachua County UF/IFAS Extension Office “To provide scientifically based agricultural, human, and natural resource knowledge to the citizens of Alachua County.”

The office building is currently under construction with an anticipated completion date of October 2021. The budget for the project is $32,550.

Outdoor Sculpture for Alachua County Agricultural & Equestrian Center
Alachua County is advertising a Call-to-Artists for an outdoor sculpture for Alachua County Agricultural & Equestrian Center. Submittals are due to Alachua County Procurement by Wednesday, January 20, 2021, no later than 2 p.m. via the Codaworx website (Registration is free).

This artwork will be an equestrian-themed outdoor sculpture. The sculpture will be located on an existing 40’x45’ slab, approximately 10” thick (4” slab with a thickened edge), adjacent to the Club House, used for outdoor social events, at the Agriculture & Equestrian Center. The sculpture shall not include a water feature or moving parts. The budget for the project is $33,550.
