Truth and Reconciliation Community Remembrance Project Workshop

Truth and Reconciliation logoThe Truth and Reconciliation Community Remembrance Project is holding a workshop on Monday, February 17, 2020, at 6 p.m. at the Senior Recreation Center (5701 N.W. 34th Blvd, Gainesville).

At the workshop, the group will discuss plans for commemorating and recognizing victims of lynching. Plans being discussed include the erection of historical markers throughout the County that will acknowledge and shine a light on the horrors of racial injustice. The public is encouraged to attend and learn how to participate in this community-wide effort.

The County Commission will be attending this workshop; therefore it is being noticed as a Special Commission Meeting so that all Commissioners can participate in the discussion.
