Biography
Ken was born and raised in Gainesville, FL and attended Terwilliger, Ft Clarke and Buchholz prior to college. Following his parents' footsteps, Ken attended the University of Florida and earned his Master's degree with high honors from the Fisher School of Accounting. Ken has been married for over twenty-eight years to his wife Angela. They have two children, Connor and Christopher, who both attended public school in Alachua County and have recently graduated from the University of Central Florida.
As a small business owner, Ken has had the opportunity to own and operate a number of small businesses in Alachua County. Ken was trained as a Certified Public Accountant and is currently a Broker-Associate and Senior Vice President with Bosshardt Realty Services, LLC.
Commissioner Cornell was elected to the Alachua County Commission in November 2014 and was recently re-elected in 2018 unopposed. Ken's record of involvement in Alachua County includes serving on the CAPP (Community Agency Partnership Program) citizens advisory board, the Chamber of Commerce public policy board, and various other private and non-profit organization boards. He's a Rotarian and a graduate of ACCESS, and will bring his record of caring about and improving our community to the County Commission.
Ken likes to travel with his family, when he is not kayaking, reading, exercising, or spending time with his four rescue pets - JJ, Jessie, Sassy and Scrabbles.
