High Springs Fire Department responds to Sunday pole-barn fire

​The fire required all High Springs units to respond, and Alachua County Fire Rescue Engine 21 also arrived on scene. The following units responded to the fire: HSFD Engine 29, HSFD Squad 29, HSFD Utility 29, ACFR Engine 21 and HSFD Chief of Department (2901).

May 6 Alachua County Commission Special Meetings

The meetings are at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. They will hold a budget meeting in the morning and a policy discussion in the afternoon. Resurfacing of 53rd Avenue set to begin construction

​Lane closures will occur primarily at night between 6:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. to minimize disruptions, with detours marked for drivers. Daytime work will focus on the road shoulders, keeping lanes mostly open for traffic. Construction is estimated to be completed by the fall but is contingent on weather and other factors.​
