Construction Inspections

• ​​​​​​​Manages and inspects Public Works construction contracts and improvement projects
• Provides inspection services for privately constructed subdivisions and site related projects
• Coordinates utility and driveway installations within County rights-of-way
• Manages roadway striping and bridge inspections
• Coordinates all street lighting with utility providers
• Performs contract administration and inspection of projects contracted by Alachua County for roadway and drainage improvements, pavement markings, traffic signals, and roadway re-surfacing.

As of 3/27/25, all Public Works related permits are submitted to the Construction Inspections Department via CitizenServe. In efforts to use less paper, the Public Works Department requests your usage of the CitizenServe portal for all permitting needs. Additionally, to activate a permit for the above activities or schedule an inspection, please refer to the CitizenServe portal.
