PETROLEUM CLEAN-UP PROJECTS PROTECTING OUR GROUNDWATER
HOGTOWN CREEK IMMINENT THREAT SITE
Hogtown Creek outfall treatment behind Lowes. This treatment is part of the ongoing groundwater cleanup efforts due to a past peteroleum discharge at the Former Shell Station located at NW 13th Street and 23rd Ave. This site has been designated as an Imminent Threat Site by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
Depot Park Cleanup Project
ACEPD is currently managing the final stages of cleanup efforts at Poole Roofing & Sheet Metal which is part of the Depot Park Project located at Depot Avenue and S. Main Street. Soil excavation activities began in September 2009 and are nearing completion. Approximately 250,000 tons of contaminated soil has been excavated so far. Former Coastal Mart #428 Excavation-Waldo
ACEPD supervised the removal of abandoned underground storage tanks and petroleum contaminated soil during a recent cleanup project at this former gas station in Waldo. About 3,865 tons of contamined soil was removed as a result of this cleanup effort.
