The Alachua County Commission will conduct a Special Meeting on Thursday, February 14, 2019. The meeting begins at 1:30 p.m., in the Grace Knight Conference Room, located on the second floor of the Alachua County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, downtown Gainesville). This meeting includes follow–up on some of the specific issues and questions raised by the Board at the December 4, and 6, 2018, Special Meetings on the Comprehensive Plan.
The meeting includes a discussion of draft updates to the Alachua County Comprehensive Plan related to:
- Recreation Master Plan
- Solid Waste
- Energy
- Clustered Rural Residential Subdivisions

These draft updates relate to various elements of the Plan including the Recreation, Solid Waste, Future Land Use, Conservation and Open Space, and Energy Elements.
This meeting is one of a series of meetings with the County Commission as part of the periodic evaluation and update of the County’s Comprehensive Plan. At this meeting, the Commission will discuss and provide direction to staff in preparation for upcoming public hearings by the Alachua County Planning Commission and the County Commissioners on transmittal of proposed amendments to the Comprehensive Plan for State review in 2019.
