The Alachua County Commission will conduct a Special Meeting on Thursday, March 28, 2019. The meeting begins at 1:30 p.m., in the Grace Knight Conference Room, located on the second floor of the Alachua County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, downtown Gainesville).
The meeting includes a discussion of draft updates to the Alachua County Comprehensive Plan related to:
- Greenways and Open Space requirements for new development
- Clustered Rural Residential Subdivision Open Space requirements
- Paving requirements for internal roads in new Rural Residential Subdivisions
These draft updates relate to the Conservation and Open Space Element and Future Land Use Element of the Comprehensive Plan.
Staff will also present information on Traditional Neighborhood Development design standards and suggestions to increase the density of development within the Urban Cluster, based on previous Board direction.
This meeting is one of a series of meetings with the County Commission as part of the periodic evaluation and update of the County’s Comprehensive Plan. At this meeting, the Commission will discuss and provide direction to staff in preparation for upcoming public hearings by the Alachua County Planning Commission and the County Commissioners on transmittal of proposed amendments to the Comprehensive Plan for State review in 2019.
