Alachua County seeks to fill four vacancies for the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC). AHAC's mission is to review policies and procedures and various regulations of Alachua County and to recommend actions or initiatives to encourage affordable housing to the Alachua County Commission.
Residents interested in preserving and expanding the availability of safe, affordable housing for very low to low-income families in Alachua County are encouraged to apply.
Qualified applicants to fill AHAC vacancies must be one of the following:
- A citizen who is actively engaged as a not-for-profit provider of affordable housing
- A citizen who actively serves on the local planning agency.
- A citizen who resides within the jurisdiction of the local governing body making the appointments.
- A citizen who represents employers within the jurisdiction.
- A citizen who represents essential services personnel, as defined in the local housing assistance plan.
