Alachua County Preserves Trail Closure Update

The Alachua County Preserves sustained impacts from Hurricane Elsa, including flooding and trees uprooting on some trails. Staff has assessed trail conditions and re-opened some preserves to public access. For your safety, please respect preserve and trail closures and stay off of closed trail areas.

Barr Hammock Preserve – Levy Loop Trail is open as of 5 p.m. Friday (8/20/21). A portion of the 6-mile loop trail remains closed, so the full loop trail is not available, but out-and-back trips are possible.

Turkey Creek Preserve remains closed due to unsafe conditions, including flooding, erosion, and hazardous trees.

All other county preserves with public access are open, but many have standing water on portions of the trails.
