County Emergency Management Invites Public Participation in Mitigation Strategy

Alachua County logoAlachua County Emergency Management invites residents to attend the Alachua County Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) Working Group meeting on February 24, 2020, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Alachua County Emergency Operations Center (1100 S.E. 27th Street, Gainesville). Attendees will learn about County mitigation efforts and can bring mitigation strategy issues to the attention of the group. Those interested in attending should RSVP by sending an email to ACEM@alachuacounty.us.

The LMS Working Group is responsible for maintaining the Alachua County Local Mitigation Strategy. This document is intended to guide efforts to protect life, property, and the environment from natural or technological hazards.

Membership in the LMS Working Group is open to all jurisdictions, County government, private organizations, civic organizations, trade and commercial support groups, property owners’ associations, authorized tribal organizations, state agencies, regional planning councils, independent special districts, and non-profit organizations.
