The Alachua County Board of County Commissioners is seeking applications for its Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC). EDAC currently meets on the second Thursday of each month, at 2:30 p.m., at the Santa Fe Downtown Campus Center for Innovation and Economic Development (530 West University Avenue, Gainesville). Terms are for four years unless a person is appointed to fill a partial term.
This 16-member Board (9 voting and 6 ex-officio) is responsible for developing and providing policy recommendations to the County Commission related to the promotion of sustainable economic development activities within Alachua County.
Current vacancies include one Alachua County resident position, Alachua County resident position (alternate), one position for someone actively engaged as a real estate professional in connection with economic/business development, and two actively engaged with economic development organizations.
