February Agriculture and Natural Resources Program

weedsThe UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Agriculture and Natural Resources Program for February 2019. This program is being offered by Dr. Kevin Korus, Agriculture & Natural Resources Agent, at the UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office (2800 N.E. 39th Avenue, Gainesville).

Natural Areas Weed Management – February 22, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Some of the topics for this class include a discussion of herbicide modes of action, herbicide additives, herbicide chemistries and weed biology, plant identification of the common weeds found in natural areas in Florida, pesticide movement through drift, leaching, runoff, worker safety, review of calculations and weight/volume conversions, and how to read an herbicide label.

The following CEU's will be available: 2 Core and 2 Natural Areas Weed Management.

Participants must register online. The registration fee is $20 and includes course material and lunch. The registration deadline is February 21, at 10 a.m. There are no refunds for registration fees.
