Hurricane Elsa Update #9 Hurricane Status and Downed Power Lines

Elsa has gone back to Hurricane status. We still expect Tropical Storm force winds when the storm reaches Alachua County.

When going out after the storm, stay away from downed power lines. Power lines are not insulated like power cords. You can't smell, see or hear electricity, so there's no way for you to determine if a downed power line is energized. Assume that it is, and maintain a safe distance.  Call 911 to report downed lines.
