The Alachua County Board of County Commissioners is seeking applications for the Conference Grant Program. In order to support and enhance Alachua County as an interesting and vibrant destination for conferences, the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners has allocated a portion of the Tourist Development Tax revenue to aid in this effort. The grant provides up to $10,000 for qualified conferences with proven hotel overnights in Alachua County.
These grants are for meetings and conferences taking place in Alachua County from September 1, 2019 to September 30, 2021. Completed applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2019, at the Alachua County Visitors and Convention Bureau, 33 North Main Street, Gainesville, Florida 32601. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
Priority for Conference Grant funding will be given to projects that have the greatest potential of bringing visitors to Alachua County who will stay overnight in paid lodging at hotels, motels, bed & breakfasts, inns, RV parks, and campgrounds. This grant is an excellent marketing and recruiting incentive for hoteliers and facility managers to offer potential incoming meetings and conferences.
