The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Environmental Horticulture programs for October 2022. This program is offered by Dr. Cynthia Nazario-Leary, Environmental Horticulture Agent, and Master Gardener Volunteers.
Florida-Friendly Landscape™ Community Tour – October 15, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Gainesville Cohousing Community (2570 N.W. 47th Street, Gainesville)
This program is a walking tour of a unique Gainesville community that elected from the outset to follow the Florida-Friendly Landscape™ guidelines. Visitors will get to see 24 residences and the community’s common areas, all of which follow the nine principles of Florida-Friendly Landscaping™. There is parking available in the community, but carpooling is highly encouraged. Children are also welcome to attend, but sorry, no pets.
This program is free, but participants must
register online by October 13. It is limited to 125 participants.
