Seeking Applications for the Children's Trust of Alachua County Board

The Children’s Trust of Alachua County Referenda initiative has passed, and Alachua County is now accepting applications from individuals interested in serving on the Children’s Trust of Alachua County Board. The Children’s Trust of Alachua County is an Independent Special District with taxing authority empowered to provide preventive, developmental, and treatment services for local children. Members appointed to the Children’s Trust Board will use a gap analysis to identify specific types of programs, establish a budget, and determine the millage rate needed.

In accordance with Florida Statute, the Children’s Trust of Alachua County Board will be comprised of ten members, five of which will be appointed by the Governor’s Office from a list of names submitted by the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners. Based upon the number of applications received by the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners, up to 15 individual names may be submitted to the Governor for consideration.

Florida Statute and local ordinance require that, to the extent possible, those appointed represent the demographic diversity of the population of Alachua County. To assure the fullest consideration, applicants should thoroughly respond to each question or topic area.

Visit the Children’s Trust of Alachua County website.

Fill out and submit an application to the Children’s Trust.

Applications must be received by Tuesday, November 20, 2018, to be considered at the December 11, 2018 Board of County Commission meeting for possible recommendation to the Governor’s Office.
