Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center Support Groups

Alachua County Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center provides free and confidential support groups throughout the year by trained and skilled facilitators. Groups are offered in a variety of modalities that include counseling and discussion, equine-assisted, yoga combined with counseling and discussion, and art and mindfulness. These groups allow survivors of sexual violence to connect and begin exploring ways to heal in a safe and supportive environment.

Groups that are offered include the following:

  • Female Survivors of Sexual Violence
  • Adult Survivors of Childhood Sexual Violence
  • Male Survivors of Sexual Violence
  • LGBTQ+ Survivors of Sexual Violence

“Our goal for support groups is to create a space that allows survivors to process their assault, connect with others, and re-discover their voice as they continue to move forward in their healing journey,” says Community Education Project Coordinator Cassandra Moore.

For more information, or to participate in any of their groups are encouraged to call the 24/7 helpline at 352-264-6760.
