The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Livestock program for September 2022. This program is being offered by Dr. Cindy Sanders, Director/Livestock Agent, UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County.
First Annual Small Ruminant Short Course and Ram Test Sale – September 16 and 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Straughn IFAS Extension Professional Development Center (2142 Shealy Drive, Gainesville) on Friday, September 16, and at the UF Beef Teaching Unit South (3721 S.W. 23 Street, Gainesville) on Saturday, September 17.
This workshop is an in-person educational event for producers, extension specialists, agents, researchers, students, and allied industry members. The program includes lectures on parasite control, herd health, marketing, management, and more. Research updates will be provided by UF/IFAS Small Ruminant Faculty and staff. Also included is featured speaker Susan Schoenian, Sheep & Goat Specialist at the University of Maryland (she will provide industry expertise). This event is held in conjunction with the 2022 University of Florida Ram Test and Sale. The sale will be conducted at 1 p.m., immediately following Saturday’s program.
The registration fee is $65.00 (includes admissions, refreshments & lunches) for both days but additional registration options are available. Participants must
register online. An increase of $15.00 will be applied to all registration options as of September 1.
