Housing Programs

We administer local, state and federally funded grants to preserve and expand the availability of safe, sanitary and affordable housing in the County. In addition to providing financial assistance through grants and interest free, deferred payment loans, we also develop Affordable Housing Incentives to encourage single and multi-family affordable housing developments.

CDBG First Public Hearing Notice
Alachua County is considering applying to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity for a FFY 2021 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-CV). The Small Cities Community Development Block Grant – Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) Program is designed to help a non-entitlement municipality or counties prepare for, prevent, or respond to the health and economic impacts of COVID-19.
A public hearing to obtain citizen comment concerning theCounty's economic and community development needs will be held on March 9, 2021 at or about 11:30 a.m. the meeting will be held virtually and Alachua County Adminstration Building, 12 SE 1st Street, Second Floor, Jack Durrance Auditorium.

The Interactive Housing Map is a navigation tool that provides insight and transparency in locating public institutions, housing options, transportation, hospitals and healthcare centers, and food markets throughout Alachua County.
